Corporate description

BASF Pharma Solutions offers the pharmaceutical industry a wide range of products and services, from high quality active ingredients and multifunctional excipients to pharmaceutical finishing and contract manufacturing, all supported by the technical and pharmaceutical experience of our technical service staff.

BASF operates production facilities in 39 countries and serves customers in more than 170 nations. Our expertise in innovative chemistry is supported by our interlinked research operations. All of our products are manufactured to CGMP standards, and we work closely with FDA, DEA, and other regulatory agencies to provide products that are fully compliant in every respect.

Technical services

The state-of-the-art technical service center in Roxbury, New Jersey, is part of the value-added service that the BASF Pharma Solutions business provides to its customers throughout the NAFTA region. We welcome our customers' R&D staff to visit our facility if they would like to have hands-on experience in cooperation with BASF scientists.

Facilities

BASF Pharma Solutions's manufacturing facilities are located in Bishop, Texas; Geismar, Louisiana; Washington, New Jersey; Ludwigshafen, Germany; and Minden, Germany. BASF also offers pharmaceutical finishing services at its facility in Shreveport, Louisiana. This facility offers full-service tablet manufacturing and packaging as well as liquids and creams manufacturing.

Major products/markets served

BASF Pharma Solutions offers the pharmaceutical industry various actives such as ibuprofen, pseudoephedrine, ephedrine, caffeine, and theophylline. To complement these products, the group offers the following highly functional excipients:

* povidone, crospovidone, and copolyvidone (sold with the trade names Kollidon[R] and Ludipress[R])

* Kollicoat[R] coatings

* PVP-iodine

* retinoids

* solubilizers and surfactants (Cremophor[R], Lutrol[R], Solutol[R] HS 15, and Soluphor[R]P).

BASF Pharma Solutions also offers contract manufacturing, which makes BASF's wide range of chemical technologies available for process development and manufacture.
