Tricor (micronized fenofibrate), Abbott Laboratories and Groupe Fournier's triglyceride-lowering agent already marketed elsewhere in the world as Lipanthyl and Lipidil, has been approved for marketing in the United States. It is indicated as adjunctive therapy with diet control for the treatment of adults wit levels who are with very high serum triglyceride and not appropriately controlled by diet alone, and who are at risk of pancreatitis (specifically, Types IV and V hyperlipidemia).
