Trigger thumb

Trigger finger, or trigger thumb, is a type of stenosing tenosynovitis in which the sheath around a tendon in a thumb or finger becomes swollen and restricts the tendon's movement. Affected joints may become painful to straighten once bent, and may make a soft crackling sound when moved.

This ailment is sometimes classed as a repetitive strain injury.

Deodorant sprays up with trigger on side
From Food & Drug Packaging, 9/1/04

Gillette's Right Guard deodorant has come out in a vertical spray version activated by a side trigger. Right Guard Cool Spray is being touted as the first "point-and-shoot" deodorant spray that is propelled straight upward. Features include a thumb-activated side trigger and a twist lock that shuts down the spray mechanism for safe transportation. Gillette developed and patented the side trigger; other patents on the design are pending, according to a Gillette spokesperson. Cool Spray is available in four fragrances: Polar Blast, Deep Freeze, Xtreme Rush and Xtreme Surge. The suggested retail price is $4.29.
