Unitas Technologies, a new DME software development company, has launched Unitas Information System (UIS) and WebO2.Net, its Web-based electronic referral management tool. The information system, UIS, helps a provider manage business operations: order entry and processing, purchasing, receiving, delivery and document imaging. WebO2.Net enables referral sources and providers to interface over the Web and exchange documentation needed for billing for respiratory services.

Foot scanner

Apex Foot Health introduces the iStep F.I.T., an advance in digital foot scanning technology. The iStep F.I.T. is an addition to the original iStep Pressure Plate, an in-store computer system that determines arch type and pressure points during standing or walking. The iStep F.I.T. expands on that concept by using patented footwear integration technology to accurately measure and analyze the foot and then recommends the best shoes and inserts available in the store for that particular customer.

Ramps

Harmar Mobility has launched three new lines of ramp products. The Extended Reach Ramps increase ramp utility by "bridging the gap" over large bumpers to a vehicle's door. They come in 6' to 12' multi-told lengths and utilize a hole pattern designed for tracuon and inclement weather drainage. Harmar's Solid Ramps are semi-permanent and come in 3' to 7' lengths with a 700 lb. weight capacity. The Solid Fold Ramps offer a unique width-wise folding function and create a pathway over obstructions and uneven surfaces. Solid Fold Ramps come in 7' to 12' lengths and hold up to 700 lbs.

Lift chair

Golden Technologies introduces MaxiComfort, a new design in lift chair positioning technology and comfort that will come as a standard feature on Gulden's Relaxer lift chair and will be available as an upgrade on select models in the Comforter series. The MaxiComfort mechanism allows customers to position the chair in what is called an extended trandelenberg position, which allows users to raise their hips level with the armrests while in fully and slightly reclined positions. Elevating the hips maximizes comfort for users with lower back pain and swelling in their lower legs.
