A child with cystic fibrosis may take this delayed-release capsule to improve digestion. It contains the pancreatic enzymes lipase, protease, and amylase. Tell her parents to spread the contents over pureed food before she eats it; she should swallow the food without chewing, then drink a glass of juice or water.
d. triamterene, 37.5 or 75 mg; hydrochlorothiazide, 25 or 50 mg
Containing hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, and triamterene, a potassium-sparing diuretic, this combination is used to control hypertension. Tell your patient to take it in the morning to reduce nighttime urination.
e. chlordiazepoxide, 5 mg; amitriptyline HCl, 12.5 mg
Used to relieve anxiety and tension, this combination contains chlordiazepoxide, a benzodiazepine, and amitriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant. Your patient could become drowsy and have blurred vision, so tell him to be careful while driving.
