THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Amgen and three other drug makers are sponsoring RheumatologyWeb, part of the Vertibrae group of online medical education sites. "Amgen's support of RheumatologyWeb speaks to its commitment to unbiased and effective professional education and to the advancement of care for the patient with rheumatologic disease," said Bruce Cronstein, a professor of medicine and pathology at New York University's School of Medicine and chairman of the RheumatologyWeb editorial board.
RheumatologyWeb members will be able to link directly to Amgen's Kineret (anakinra) home page to obtain product-specific information, patient education materials and resources to help patients with insurance coverage and reimbursement issues. Other RheumatologyWeb sponsors include Immunex, Merck and Wyeth-Ayerst. Vertibrae is a division of Mediaworks.
