Maxair, a Swedish airline based at Malmo's Sturup airport, is to launch a route between Malmo and Norrkoping, Sweden.
The carrier reportedly announced the route the same day that Skyways said it would discontinue its Malmo-Linkoping-Norrkoping route. Skyways has operated the route for about a year and said that it would be discontinued because it has not been profitable.
Maxair believes that it is possible to make the route between Malmo and Norrkoping profitable with a different schedule and if the Linkoping segment is left out. The route is scheduled to be launched on 5 March.
